Lindy Middle School Coalition students work with their Mentors and local business owners to send positive messages to their community!
The Lindenhurst Middle School Coalition has a message for their community! Watch for the special stickers on your take out bags and pizza boxes in the upcoming weeks. The club that meets most Tuesdays and mentored by Social Workers Melissa Levy and Ancy Paulose recently held an art contest to compose prevention messages that they think sums up how they feel about drug and alcohol misuse. These students are civic minded, conscience of the environment and they strive to reach their fullest potential while helping each other along the way. Together, they study different issues that are facing today’s modern student and prioritize what’s important to them. They evaluate recent trends such as vaping or explore the different reasons why underage youth might try alcohol before turning 21. After a few weeks of fact finding and thoughtful discussion this years leaders came up with a new message…..A Brighter future for all, starts with saying NO to Drinking, Smoking and Vaping! Please support our youth by taking a selfphie with your pizza box and upload it to the Lindy Cares Youth or Lindenhurst Community Cares Coalition Facebook page! Lindy Cares supports and empowers youth who want to take an active role in creating an environment they believe they can thrive in! You can come out and support these great Lindy Leaders at the True Colors Run on June 9th. Registration starting soon! visit www.lindycares.org for more info. Next meeting April 18, Spirit of the Community – 6:30 PM High School Cafeteria.
